THIS IS THE MOST INTERESTING FAT BURNING BOOK EVER!!! And the diet it suggests TOTALLY works without fail. I have recommended and discussed and lived this book. It is more about how, why, what of the hormones that affect your body than about a "diet", which is very extreme - no carbs or sugar, but it works. And fast. The most intersting thing is that you go on ketosis without eating meat - like Atkins - and both the fluid build-up and fat melts away. It will change the way you look at your body. I've struggled with weight loss for many years and have tried multiple programs with some success but nothing that will keep the weight off for good. When I saw this book up for review, I jumped at the chance to read yet another book about losing weight. Something about this book just seemed different to me and it was! I've heard some of this before but there's lots of new information to me and I like the way Dr. Berg presents it.

When I saw this book up for review, I jumped at the chance to read yet another book about losing weight. Something about this book just seemed different to me and it was! I've heard some of this before but there's lots of new information to me and I like the way Dr. Berg presents it.

He tells you the four different body types and the best way to eat and exercise for each one. There's Adrenal, Ovary, Thyroid and Liver. I was then able to take a quiz to determine my body type. He also includes pictures for each body type so it wasn't hard to figure out which one I resemble the most and, sure enough, after taking the quiz, it matched.

He talks about triggers and blockers and there are lots of illustrations and charts to help understand what he's saying. He includes menus and recipes and has a Q&A section. The difference in his approach is to get healthy first and then the weight will come off so it's not just a diet but rather a lifestyle change.

Now, the big question: Am I doing it? Not currently. It's not an easy plan to follow. I have incorporated some of his suggestions and plan to give his program a try. I highly recommend this book to anyone that's looking to feel healthier and lose weight.

I found this book to be very informative and helpful. I didn't realize that there are certain diets and types of exercises that different body types should do. There's a section with a questionnaire that helps you determine which body type you are and then chapters that follow that give support to weight loss for these types. For example, some types need more protein than others. Some do better with aerobic exercise, while for others, simple walking is enough. I also didn't realize that 80% of y I found this book to be very informative and helpful. I also didn't realize that 80% of your hormones are effected by your liver and it's important to get your liver healthy to get the best results and maximize your hormone production. There were very good tips in meal planning as well. There were some parts that were repetitive, but overall, it was a great book and one I would recommend looking into.

There are 4 main ways that a person gains weight--4 body types. Each type has a certain way they need to eat and exercise in order to burn fat. Each type is also associated with hormones, but what surprised me was that most of the hormones are related to the liver.

Dr. Berg suggests that everyone go through a liver cleanse or detox to get the liver healthy again (at least 14 days). He has listed out what he feels is the best way to do so. Once that's done, a person is to eat and exercise according to his/her body type.

I liked having chapters dedicated to the hows, whys, and benefits to dedicating your diet to your body type. Some recipes were included, as well as meal plans. I also enjoyed having good snack ideas, as my kids are always hungry. I think a person would be able to mix and match these ideas and plans to come up with something that works for them, so a person isn't eating the same 6 meals for the rest of his/her life.

For me, personally, I found this book to be very educational. I look forward to actually trying out what I've read to see how effective it really is, but it all makes sense and sounds good.

**I received a copy for review and that in no way influenced my opinion.**

This is a great guide on why and how to do the keto diet, or I should say lifestyle, because it really is a lifestyle change.

Look up Carnivore Aurelius and Michaela Petersen for great advice from people like me who had to go carnivore for results. Use a macro calculator like Chronometer, plus a food scale to track everything you eat.

If you have chronic pain, exhaustion, insomnia and indigestion like I did, you might be surprised at the drastic positive change that removing fiber from your diet can make. Make sure you eat ruminants and organs, as well as other nutrient dense foods like eggs and sardines.

I was constantly waking in my sleep and rarely dreaming, plus not really remembering what I dreamed about. Now I easily sleep as long as I want, plus have one or two dreams per night that I remember when waking. My pain and fatigue are cut in half and getting better as time goes on.

Yes he is not a Dr. He is a chiropractor but most Dr.'s have less nutritional background then he does. Yes he sales a lot of supplements but can't a guy make a dollar! You don't have to be a saint to have good nutritional advice. Also you don't have to buy the supplements. The only one I'm even thinking about buying is the electrolyte one because my man works in a hot green house all day and will most likely need a boost come July and August.
This was a really good approach to the ketogenic diet if your thinking of starting to live a low carb high fat medium protein diet give this book a read first it will be a great guide!

I read this book because my acupuncturist recommended I learn more about my need to cut back sugar from my diet. I've never been a dieter and am not trying to lose any weight. Sure, it'd be nice to lose inches, but I'm far from the target audience for this book. The climax of the book leads up to some very specific dieting plans, which I'm not at all interested in.

However, I learned some fascinating things about the need to keep your glands and organs in healthy function so that your hormones can also operate as mother nature intended. I learned about the differences of fat-storing and fat-burning hormones and what things (exercise, sleep, and/or food) trigger these hormones. The author also goes into great detail about the different body types and how they are related to a particular organ/gland weakness. Once you are able to target your particular weakened organs/glands to achieve healthier function, then you can simply maintain your healthy lifestyle.

The only disappointment I have with the book is that it says I am one body type, but the test on the authors website says I am a '5th' body type that he doesn't cover in his book. Nevertheless, I refer to the book often to review what he says about certain topics-- which is much easier and quicker than going to YouTube to watch videos.

My rating is based in the theory provided in the book. Everything mentioned makes perfect sense (I have a science background, so i understand some about hormones). I wish I could follow the plan, but much of the food and ingredients are more expensive than the regular food I eat. I can't afford following this plan for now, but I surely plan on doing it eventually. And I am sure it will give good results based on the explanations provided. I found a few small points in this book that I just did not agree with, based on other studies and my own observation. This made me wary of everything else I read in this book. However, over all I think it has good advice. Although I did not do the diet as per laid out, I have been trying some things and have been feeling better.

Wow!

ok, on studying diet and nutrition last several years, with help from wise counselors, I did lose about 40 lbs. I was in a good place. But, being stuck and unable to lose anymore i was getting frustrated. I really started studying what MY BODY needed...This book explains EVERYTHING! Thank you!!!

Basically a ketogenic diet. His two week liver cleanse sounds a little strict and fanatical. There are some good points he brings up. For example he addresses environmental estrogenic substances and the lack of potassium rich foods in the western diet.

This book is an easy-going, simple to understand and 100% solution to weight loss. Like Dr. Eric says, weight is not a problem. Its a symptom and to fix it, we need to understand the underlying problem.

I started watching Dr. Eric berg's videos on youtube first. They were very interesting. But the challenge is, information is scattered. So, to get a complete view, I picked up the book.

I would have given this book 5 stars had there not been a lot of repetition of the same point, again and again, in the same chapter, as well as between chapters. It felt annoying at times. But i take it to it that maybe those points need to be emphasized again and again. It's Dr Eric bergs style that I have noticed in his videos as well.

Overall, i enjoyed the book thoroughly and gained knowledge at the same time.
